This homeowner has the following systems installed in their crawlspace:

  • SmartSump - A crawlspace sump pump system that has an alarm to alert you when there is a plumbing leak or other water present in the crawlspace.

Basement Photo Gallery Slideshow Up

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

So the photo gallery slideshow for basement waterproofing issues is up. I have to admit - I like the layout - the program used is very nice.

There’s a few pictures that really stand out from the batch I put up. Take a look at this one:

Does your basement sump pump look like this? Let’s look at a major problem here.

The opening where the sump pump sits is completely wide open!

Wow, talk about problems:

  • The safety hazard of stepping into the hole and hurting your leg
  • Children and small pets have access, and the ability to fall in
  • The mold spores and musty smells can come right into the basement
  • Radon gas can come into the basement
  • Dirt and debris can fall into the hole, causing the sump pump to jam and break.

Luckily, there is a better solution. The SuperSump sump pump system comes with an airtight that solves all of these problems. Read more at the link above.
