Hiring a Waterproofing Contractor -
More Tips to Consider

Hiring a waterproofing contractor if you have had a water issue, or if you want to take care of a possible problem before it has a chance to start is a good idea, as well as a great investment in order to protect your home and belongings.

Has your basement ever been flooded?  Have you recently seen some signs of water and moisture seeping through your floors, walls, or both?  Now would be the time to see what basement contractors can do before the situation gets worse, and with water issues, they do get worse over time, not better.

Before hiring a waterproofing contractor, it is in your best interest to find out the following information from the company before proceeding.  The following are some good points to consider before deciding on which contractor to do the necessary work in your home.
  1. How long has the company been in business?
  2. Are they licensed and insured basement contractors?
  3. What is their experience?
  4. What type of warranty is offered on their products, as well as the warranty on the area that is waterproofed in your basement?
  5. Are there references available at your request?  Can they provide at least 3 good references, possibly more when you want them?

Properly waterproofing your basement is a big job, so it is in your best interest to bring in a waterproofing contractor or basement contractor to assess the situation and come up with the best solution for you.  If the contractor you choose can answer these questions and provide the information you need, and you also feel comfortable in their ability, then get ready to enjoy a dry basement!
